SeaChange Summer Party
The SeaChange Summer party is an annual Orange County event recognizing the sea’s importance and honoring those who are actively helping to preserve its habitats and wildlife.
The second annual SeaChange event took place in August 2009 and honored actress Glenn Close and Academy Award winner Morgan Freeman. It was held for a second year at the Villa di Sogni in Laguna Beach, California.
The event raised nearly $900,000 for ocean conservation through ticket sales and auction items, with Oceana as the main beneficiary of the event.
The 2008 honorees included actor and board member of Conservation International, Harrison Ford; actor and Oceana board member, Sam Waterston; and internationally-acclaimed sustainability entrepreneur, John Picard.
Orange Coast Magazine named the SeaChange Summer Party one of the top five “Must Attend” events in Orange County. Four hundred and fifty people attended the 2008 event, which raised nearly $1 million for Oceana, making it one of the largest and most successful environmental fundraisers in Orange County.
