Ocean Conservation Yacht Club (OCYC)

Established in 2008, the OCYC is a collaboration between Oceana and the sailing community. Sailors witness and are adversely affected by the decline of the world's oceans and have a unique opportunity to be part of the solution.

Love a Sea Turtle

Help Them L.AS.T. (Love a Sea Turtle) is the website of twelve-year-old Casey Sokolovic, who was a finalist in Oceana’s 2009 Ocean Hero Contest. Through her creative fundraising efforts, she has raised more than $3000 for the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Topsail Island, North Carolina. For the 2009 holiday adoption center, Oceana created a “Casey Kit” in her honor, which contains a sea turtle cookie cutter and plush turtle.

January Jones is Scared for Sharks

Actress January Jones, who plays Betty Draper on AMC's award-winning series, “Mad Men," is a spokesperson for Oceana’s campaign to save sharks. She traveled to the Bahamas, where she swam with sharks to show that she is scared for sharks, not of them.
