Stop Seafood Contamination Intern, Policy

Based in: Washington, DC, USA

My favorite place in the world is Cape Hatteras, on the Outer Banks. The nesting sea turtles and birds, perfect waves rolling in towards the lighthouse, and the sheer natural beauty of the Atlantic have all pulled me away from Washington D.C. for frequent beach trips my entire life. Now, I am compelled to put my efforts towards protecting such uniquely amazing ecosystems.

As a resource, oceans provide us with tremendous amounts of food and sustain billion-dollar tourism industries, thus giving much of the world with a common interest: ensuring the continued health of marine ecosystems. With about 50% of the U.S. population living in coastal regions, we must continue search for more considerate and efficient ways to utilize these vital marine resources.
